AVOID REDUCE DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE FAILURE AND SOOT CARBON BUILDUP OF EGR SYSTEM WITH FASS EGR FILTER SYSTEM OR A BANKS MAP SENSOR RELOCATION KIT UPGRADE SERVICE AT CUMMINS AUTOMOTIVE DIESEL SERVICE IN OREGON

SCHEDULE SERVICE

Today’s diesel truck engines, particularly those from 2007 and newer, are more prone to a carbon buildup which can lead to the premature failure of the diesel engine, to the premature failure of diesel engine parts, and can lead to the premature failure of some diesel engine components, such as sensors.

The two upgrade service options, below, are upgrades by which truck owners can avoid major engine failure issues due to carbon buildup in the engines of diesel trucks from 2007 and newer.

Banks MAP Sensor Relocation Kit

The first service upgrade addresses the issue of problematic carbon buildup on the MAP sensor, the manifold absolute pressure sensor. This issue is applicable to trucks from 2007 and newer. The MAP sensor is downstream from the EGR system (Exhaust Gas Recirculation system). The EGR system recirculates the exhaust gas into the intake. Due to the original, stock placement of the MAP sensor, directly in the stream of the recirculated gases, soot is sucked directly into the MAP sensor where it quickly accumulates on the sensor. On the newer trucks this creates a large amount of carbon buildup, or carbon contamination, on the MAP sensor. A contaminated MAP sensor can cause inaccurate readings, adversely affecting fuel economy and power output.

The solution to resolving this problematic carbon buildup on the MAP sensor is an upgrade which Cummins Automotive & Diesel Service can do for their customers; the installation of a Banks MAP Sensor Relocation Kit. The MAP sensor relocation kit relocates the MAP sensor, placing the MAP sensor further away from and out of the direct stream of the recirculated gases, a location from which the MAP sensor is still able to read the pressure accurately; but where it keeps the soot from being sucked directly into the MAP sensor, reducing the chance of carbon buildup and contamination of the sensor, keeping the sensor cleaner.

The Banks MAP Sensor Relocation Kits are made to fit the following diesel truck year, model, and engine sizes:

  • 2007.5-2018 Dodge/RAM 2500-3500 Cummins 6.7L Diesel, & 4500-5500 Chassis Cab
  • 2011-2019 Ford F250-550 Power Stroke 6.7L Diesel
  • 2017-2025 Chevy/GMC 2500/3500 Duramax 6.6L L5P
  • 2019-2024 Dodge/RAM 2500-3500 Cummins 6.7L Diesel, & 4500-5500 Chassis Cab
  • 2020-2026 Ford F250-550 Power Stroke 6.7L Diesel
  • 2023½-2025 Chevy/GMC 2500-3500 Duramax 6.6L Diesel (Lower MAP sensor only)
  • 2023½-2026 Chevy/GMC 2500-3500 Duramax 6.6L Diesel (For trucks with separate manifold temperature and pressure sensors)

FASS EGR Filter System

The second service upgrade addresses the issue of the problematic carbon buildup, not only at the MAP sensor, but throughout the entire engine. This method is the FASS EGR Filter System. The FASS EGR Filter System eliminates 85% of the gases that the EGR system recirculates back into the engine by catching those gases, or filtering out those gases so only 15% of the carbon gases reach the engine and its sensors. This considerably reduces the soot that accumulates on the MAP sensor, it reduces EGR cooler and EGR valve clogging, it reduces the particulate matter buildup on the engine’s intakes and intake valves as well as the top of the piston rings, and it reduces particulate matter buildup on grid heaters, all while eliminating excessive particulate matter being introduced into the truck’s engine oil.

As the FASS EGR Filter System reduces the amount of gasses passing downstream from the EGR system and thereby reducing carbon buildup, a truck’s diesel engine benefits with extended EGR cooler and EGR valve life, with proper engine airflow, with reduced engine wear, with minimalized potential of broken piston rings, and minimalized possibility of engine failure.

FASS EGR Filter System is emissions compliant and EPA approved.

The FASS EGR Filter System is low maintenance with self-cleaning, auto regeneration!

The FASS EGR Filter Systems are made to fit the following diesel truck year, model, and engine sizes:
